Bubble tea incoming. Ok, so Uber Eats caught my marketing eye, and I’m obsessed. I already have mega crushes on David and Victoria Beckham, but had no idea just how far we could push it. If you haven’t seen their teaser ad for the Super Bowl, you’re seriously missing out. I won’t lie, I didn’t looooooove Beckham on Netflix (I’m more Spice Girl and less footballer, sue me.) but this was absolute perfection.

Nostalgia runs deep and McDonalds knows it. First, they hit us with an “Adult Happy Meal” in 2022, then they took over social media with the “Grimace” shake, and now they’re coming in hot by bringing back the villain of all villains, the hamburglar. Full disclosure: I haven’t stepped foot in a McDonald’s in decades, but I won’t be surprised to see this all over my feed for the next few weeks.

Wtf is wrong with people? Two weeks ago, AI-generated nudes of [you know who] took over X with one image attracting over 45 million views. Gag. 404 media did the digging for us and found that the images originated from some nasty-ass group on Telegram where users share explicit AI-generated images of women often made with Microsoft Designer. Apparently, Microsoft Responsible AI Engineering is on the case, and the photos have been removed from X. Cool, except the issue of stopping deepfake porn and AI-generated images of real people continues. Yep, I love being a woman.

On the flip side. Last week, Google Research released an inside look into Lumiere, their new video generation AI model which is (if you ask me) pretty freaking incredible. With a simple prompt, you can have a video land right in your lap, and while they aren’t the first to tackle text-to-video using AI - this is the first time it doesn’t look like a 10-year-old’s art project (unless, of course, that’s what you’re in to). ps: the unfortunate reality of tech is that with every new innovation comes the potential for misuse. I’m watching Google to see how they plan to tackle this one.
